Liszt International Piano Competition Online (LIPCO)

1. General Provisions

Liszt International Piano Competition Online (LIPCO) is an international online music competition (the “Competition”).

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the Competition and use of the website:

By submitting an application, you agree to these Terms.

The Competition constitutes a digital service. Participation does not guarantee any award or result.


2. Organiser

The organiser of the Competition is LIPCO (the “Organiser”).

All inquiries may be submitted via the contact form available on the website or via email:

3. Eligibility

The Competition is open to pianists of all ages and nationalities.

Categories include:

  • Piano Solo (age-based)
  • Piano Duo
  • Optional expert categories

Participants under the age of 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian.

By submitting an application, you confirm that all information provided is accurate.


4. Competition Format

The Competition is conducted entirely online.

Participation is based on video submissions.
No live rounds are required.

The Organiser reserves the right to adjust the format if necessary.


5. Repertoire

Repertoire is free.

Maximum duration:

  • 15 minutes per category

One performance may be submitted to multiple categories.


6. Video Requirements

Videos must:

  • clearly show the performer
  • have adequate audio quality

Videos must be:

  • uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo
  • set as public or unlisted

Private, restricted, or downloadable files are not accepted.

Participants are responsible for ensuring that submitted links are valid and accessible.


7. Application

An application is valid only when all of the following are completed:

  • submission of the application form
  • provision of a valid video link
  • full payment of the entry fee

Incomplete applications may be rejected.


8. Entry Fees and Payments

Fees:

  • Main category: €70
  • Each additional category: €35
  • Jury feedback (optional): €35

All fees are non-refundable, except in cases where the Competition is cancelled by the Organiser.

By registering, you expressly agree that the service begins immediately and acknowledge that you may lose the right of withdrawal where applicable under EU consumer law.

Fees cover administrative, technical, and evaluation costs.


9. Jury and Evaluation

The jury consists of professional musicians.

Evaluation criteria include:

  • musicality
  • technique
  • interpretation

Jury decisions are:

  • final
  • not subject to appeal

The Organiser reserves the right not to disclose detailed scoring.


10. Awards

Awards may include:

Main Awards:

  • Absolute Winner
  • Gold Prize
  • Silver Prize
  • Bronze Prize
  • Honorable Mention

Special Awards:

  • Pianist of the Season
  • Versatile Pianist
  • Liszt Prize

Annual Award:

  • Pianist of the Year

The Organiser reserves the right:

  • not to award certain prizes
  • to introduce additional awards

11. Results and Recognition

Results are published on the official Competition website.

All participants receive a digital diploma.

Prize winners and selected participants may receive additional recognition, including:

  • publication of results
  • publication of name, artistic profile, and materials
  • promotion via website, social media, and partners
  • interviews and featured artist presentations

Selected participants may be invited to participate in future artistic or promotional activities.


12. Intellectual Property

Participants retain ownership of their recordings.

By submitting an application, participants grant the Organiser a:

  • non-exclusive
  • worldwide
  • royalty-free
  • perpetual

licence to:

  • publish
  • reproduce
  • distribute
  • display
  • promote
  • edit (including excerpts and formatting)

their submitted materials (including name, recordings, and images) for purposes related to the Competition and its promotion.

Participants confirm that they hold all necessary rights to the submitted materials.


13. Participant Obligations

Participants agree:

  • to provide accurate information
  • not to submit content that infringes third-party rights
  • not to submit misleading or fraudulent materials

The Organiser may disqualify participants for:

  • false information
  • rule violations
  • inappropriate or unlawful content

14. Liability

The Competition is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

The Organiser is not responsible for:

  • technical issues
  • invalid or inaccessible video links
  • platform outages (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo)
  • submission errors
  • loss of data beyond reasonable control

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Organiser’s liability is limited to the amount of the entry fee paid.


15. Modification or Cancellation

The Organiser reserves the right to:

  • modify these Terms
  • adjust categories, deadlines, or format
  • suspend or cancel the Competition

In case of cancellation, the Organiser may decide on appropriate remedies, including refunds.


16. Force Majeure

The Organiser shall not be liable for delays or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, including:

  • technical failures
  • internet outages
  • natural disasters
  • governmental actions

17. Personal Data

Personal data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy available on the website.

By participating, you acknowledge that your data may be used for purposes related to the Competition.


18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by:

  • Polish law
  • European Union law

Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts in Poland.
